Information about the Editor-in-Chief of Underwater Investigation and Robotics

Dolgikh Grigory Ivanovich, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor by specialty, Academician of the RAS, Director of POI FEB RAS.

He graduated from the Faculty of Physics of the Far Eastern State University in 1977. In 1988 he defended his PhD thesis at the Dissertation Council of the IPE of the USSR Academy of Sciences, and in 1999 - his doctoral dissertation at the same institute (IPE RAS). In 2003 he was elected Corresponding Member of the RAS, and in 2016 he was elected Academician of the RAS. He worked as a senior engineer, researcher, head of laboratory, head of department, deputy director for science, deputy chairman of FEB RAS, and director of the institute.

The main scientific results of Dolgikh G.I.: experimental research of regularities of generation and dynamics of the marine wave processes of the infrasound range and their transformation into the seismoacoustic oscillations of the Earth's crust at the "hydrosphere-lithosphere" boundary, which have great practical importance for global monitoring of the ocean were carried out; the theoretical and experimental foundations for the use of laser-interference methods for studying the ocean have been created; with his direct participation, unique laser strainmeters of various versions, as well as laser nanobarographs and laser meters of hydrosphere pressure variations, were developed, constructed and introduced into oceanological research, which made it possible to study the physical processes of the geospheres at the nanolevel.

Dolgikh G. I. is a member of the "Scientific Council on Hydrophysics" under the Presidium of the RAS, a member of the Bureau of the FEB RAS, a member of the Bureau of the Department of Earth Sciences of the RAS, directs the work of the Joint Scientific Council on Earth Sciences of the FEB RAS. He is a member of two Academic Councils (POI FEB RAS and IACP FEB RAS), three Dissertation Councils (POI FEB RAS - 2, IACP FEB RAS -1), is the editor-in-chief of the journal “Hydrosphere. Hazard processes and phenomena”. He is also a member of the editorial boards of journals Vestnik of the FEB RAS and Photonics.

Specialist in the field of ocean physics and laser interferometry, author of more than 400 scientific works, of which 175 papers, 7 monographs and 15 patents, including 89 scientific papers after being elected an academician of the RAS in 2016, of which 6 copyright certificates and patents.

Information about the deputy editor-in-chief of the journal

Kiselev Lev Vladimirovich, Doctor of Engineering, Chief Research Scientist of the Institute of Marine Technology Problems of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (FEB RAS).

He was born 6th of October, 1938. He graduated from the Mechanical-Mathematical Faculty of the Ural State University with a degree in Theoretical Mechanics. During 1961-1964 he worked as an engineer at the Electromechanics Institute (currently JSC "Scientific and Production Association of Electro Mechanics") and the Heavy Machinery Plant (currently JSC "Academician V.P. Makeyev State Rocket Centre") in Miass, Russia. In 1965, he joined the Sverdlovsk branch of the V.A. Steklov Mathematical Institute (later Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics of the Ural Branch (UB) of the Academy of Science of the USSR, currently N.N. Krasovskii Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics (IMM UB RAS)).

In 1970, he received a Ph.D. degree in Technical Sciences majoring in non-linear rocket control systems. In 1972, he was elected Senior Research Scientist in the Institute of Automation and Control Processes (IACP) FEB RAS, Vladivostok. He joined the Laboratory of Navigation and Control Systems, headed by the Doctor of Engineering (later Academic) Mikhail D. Ageev. He became one of the pioneers in underwater robotics. In 1976, he obtained the title of the Chief Research Scientist. After a reorganization of the Institute of Marine Technology Problems (IMTP) FEB RAS, he worked as a leading research scientist. After receiving the Doctor of Engineering degree in 1989, he became a chief research scientist in the Laboratory of Underwater Robotic Systems. Currently, he holds the position of chief research scientist and is deservedly considered as one of the veterans of the Institute of Marine Technology Problems (IMTP) FEB RAS.

L.V. Kiselev laid and developed the theoretical foundations of the dynamics of control systems for AUVs, investigated and developed integral models of navigation and control, and methods of organizing the spatial movement of AUVs during the investigation of underwater regions, objects, and physical fields. His developments gained practical implementation in deep-sea vehicles created in IPMT FEB RAS. He is author and co-author of 170 scientific works: 5 monographs, journal articles, scientific reports, reports at international and All-Russian scientific forums. In 2006, he launched the journal "Underwater Investigation and Robotics", and for the next 13 years, he was its Editor-in-Chief. Currently, he is the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of this journal. Since 2005, L.V. Kiselev has been a member of the Scientific Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences in control processes, and the initiator and co-chairman of the All-Russian Scientific and Technical Conference "Technical problems of the development of the World Ocean".
